Steampunk Alice Costume Design (color)

Description

A color version of the black and white costume sketch I did earlier. Colors added digitally. What I did was keep the color scheme which Alice is associated with in her costume. I got a lot of inspiration from famed costume designer June Hudson who had done many designs for the classic series of Doctor Who. Including the burgundy costume Tom Baker wore in his last series as the Fourth Doctor. Tovex had described Alice's look at tomboyish in his comments on the black and white sketch. And I think that's the perfect description. I found myself unintentionally inspired by Lalla Ward as Romana II.

Oh, this lovely! I agree, there's far too much of making Alice sexy. It's looks a bit like a drawing out of The Phantom Tollbooth, which really helps keep it's original storybook feel, with enough edgy shadow to keep it dark and interesting at the same time. And the Vorpal Blade's fine, that's in the original book, Disney can't own that.
As for the fob hanging off her belt, I bet it's a Warp-Augmented Time-Controlling Horologe (W.A.T.C.H.) which allows her to speed up and slow down time around her to suit her needs.
