Illustrated in Deleter #3 Black Drawing Ink with crow quill pen and brush on Strathmore 9x12 smooth bristol board.
From a series of Bat-Mat illustration I've been doing on and off for a year now that depicts if Bat-Man fought crime in the early 1900's. My inspiration for this illustration came from the cover of the new Batman and Robin series written by the insanely talented Grant Morrison.
Unlike a few of my previous the Bat-Man illustrations, I wanted to depict Bat-Man and Robin a bit differently. This time more along the lines of an Alan Quartermain style adventurer with the way both Bat-Man and Robin's costumes look. Less of the circus performer look with more of a uniformed canvas feel to it. Giving the suggestions that their crime-fighting wasn't limited to Gotham City but across the globe.
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article.
In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
