Well, this is my first campaign of any kind, so please give me some leeway for mistakes I had mentioned previously that I am beginning a CROWDFUNDING campaign for a graphic novel I've written titled ALICE AND THE INVADERS FROM WONDERLAND. I am hoping to have super-talented comic artist Paul Loudon supply the artwork for it. But I am going to need your help. I am hoping to raise $4000.00 for a small print run to release the graphic novel. But you will NOT go unrewarded for your generous contribution. With your pledge you will receive prints and artwork by me!! I have been doing Alice in Wonderland related artwork for some time now, so I've built up a considerable backlog of art and prints. Another thing you could do which would be a massive help would be passing this campaign along to anyone you know who would be interested in a graphic novel of this nature. Also reposting the link on your Facebook, Twitter, Google+ or blog would be greatly appreciated as well. The only way this project will get off the ground is with your support. And be sure to like Paul's artist page as well at Paul Loudon the Illustrator. He is an amazing artist and someone whose work I greatly admire. Many thanks and I hope you can help me out in some way. Howdy all!! I have a couple art auctions up and running for you all to check out. First up is my very first attempt at trying to illustrate 12th Doctor Peter Capaldi's retro look. Much like previous auction of this nature once a winning bid is met, a copy of the image will be made on 11x14 high quality carstock and signed personally to the winning bidder.

After that I will PERMANENTLY DELETE the file this image is on to ensure this to be ONE OF A KIND ART.

But not only will the winning bidder receive both the 11x14 color art and 9x12 pen and ink art, they will also receive a concept sketch I created several months back trying to imagine what Capaldi's Doctor might look like. The look is based on his appearance as Professor Marcus in The Ladykillers onstage.

The design THEY came up with was much better than mine. I admit.

Up next I'm offering a 16x20 art print of my newest illustration THE REALLY ROTTENS.... OR A GATHERING OF NO GOODNIKS. The title is derived from two sources. One is the name of the team the bad guys were on in the Hanna-Barbera series LAFF-A-LYMPICS. Which was an odd title since I really never laughed once watching it. The second source is what Boris Badinov would occassionally refer to himself as.

Hey all!! I am offering a limited print run on a new illustration I created titled SHERLOCK HOLMES ON THE HUNT as seen above. Although, I have stated that I enjoy the BBC Series starring Benedict Cumberbatch, I also know many people out there who prefer the traditional Holmes. And I've always considered myself more of a fan of the traditional Sherlock Holmes. I thought I'd create something with that Holmes and Watson in mind.

The artwork was created to try and pay off an unforeseen expense Syd and I had recently incurred and any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm offering three variations for buyers:

11x14 Color Art: $45 (Limited to Ten)

11x14 Dr. Caligari Sepia Art: $40 (Limited to Five)

16x20 Color Art Only: $100.00 (Limited to One)

14x17 Pen and Ink Original: $400.00

All prints offered with be signed with the option of a personal inscription to the buyer. Please contact me if you would like a personal inscription to yourself or to someone you wish to purchase this for. Please let me know if you do not wish to have a personal inscription as well.

This will be the ONLY TIME I will be offering this illustration as a print. Purchase your copy of one of them today by visiting my blog: herbertzohl.blogspot.com/2014/…

I don't do this too often, but I am offering to bid on one of my older pen and ink illustrations THE ADVENTURES OF SHERLOCK HOLMES (as seen above) on E-Bay. Its something I haven't done in many auctions, but I am also giving people the opportunity to either BUY IT NOW or BID ON the illustration.

Its from a series of Sherlock Holmes illustrations I completed between 2000 and 2004. This particular piece was completed in 2004. Illustrated in Winsor Newton Ink on Canson Smooth 14x17 illustration board.

The artwork will arrive to the buyer matted. Please contact me if you wish the artwork to be PERSONALLY SIGNED to yourself or someone you intend to give it as a gift to.

Click on the link to check it out and either purchase it or place a bid: www.ebay.com/itm/181299362107

Four of my other Sherlock Holmes illustrations from that series are available for purchase at Bunny and the Badger:
www.etsy.com/shop/BunnyAndTheB…
These are the Sherlock Holmes illustrations currently for sale. All were illustrated on 16x20 Bainbridge Number 80 Cold Press Finish Illustration Board. Which is what I did most of my earlier illustration work on. The pieces were illustrated in Pelikan Black Drawing Ink with Crow Quill Pen and Brush. I have switched to several different inks since that time.

New auction!! To celebrate the upcoming 50th Anniversary episode DAY OF THE DOCTOR, I have a brand new color art print available titled THE TIME WAR. In this image I play with the concept that John Hurt's mysterious unknown incarnation of the Doctor is an interim regeneration sort of like the Valeyard or Tony Garner's interim incarnation from the famed fan vid DEVIOUS. Perhaps a regeneration brought on by the Time Lords when the Eighth Doctor refused to take part in the Time War. They triggered the Doctor to regenerate once before. It might make sense that they would not only trigger his regeneration again. But try and create an incarnation of him that would make him the perfect soldier in their plans. John Hurt's Doctor did say "What I did, I did without choice".

Naturally, this is all speculation on my behalf. We'll just have to wait till November to find out.

In this auction, when the winning bid is met, a print will be made on 11x14 high quality glossy card stock and SIGNED PERSONALLY to the winning bidder. Then the file the image was on will be deleted to ensure this is a ONE OF A KIND IMAGE. The winning bidder will also receive the original 9x12 pen and ink artwork the color art was based on.

Although, I have to send the artwork separately, the winning bidder will only have to pay shipment FOR ONE ITEM!!

Thought I'd try and get one more special art auction posted before the end of the Summer. I haven't offered a great number of larger prints in the past. Largest I've offered for either of my series of prints or special one off prints has been 11x17. But after the success of my last DARK SHADOWS: WELCOME TO COLLINWOOD auction, I thought I'd offer one more special 16x20 print auction. This time in anticipation of Matt Smith handing over the TARDIS key to Peter Capaldi and hanging up his bow tie, I'd offer a special 16x20 color print titled DOCTOR WHO: FALL OF THE ELEVENTH. The illustration is actually from an early attempt in drawing Matt Smith's Doctor back in 2010. But I thought the image itself was suitable for Matt's Doc becoming "one of the eleven".

It's based on Paul Cornell's concept from his book TIMEWYRM: REVELATION and his Seventh Doctor audio play SHADOW OF THE SCOURGE which suggests that the Doctor's past incarnations still exist within his mind.

The way my special auctions work is once the winning bid is met, a 16x20 print on high quality glossy cardstock will be made and signed to the winning bidder. The file which the image is on will be deleted making this a one of a kind print.

After much hemming and hawing I decided to create a new website. I the past I've had websites with Tripod and Free Webs. Neither of which I found to be very satisfactory. Tripod annoyed me for their limited storage unless you paid to use their crummy site. So I dumped that and used Free Webs for a time. Which I didn't find satisfactory either. So I decided just to use my blog as my website. But finally my good buddy Andy Fish talked me into getting a domain on Go Daddy and setting up a site on Portfoliobox. I'm very happy with the results and find it to be one of the better websites I've maintained. Click on the link to check it out --> www.bretmherholz.com

I am having a special auction right now on E-Bay!! Bid on a color print featuring the Seventh Doctor and the Valeyard. Although the Seventh Doctor never officially faced his evil future on television, this particular image was inspired by Robert Perry and Mike Tucker's novel MATRIX. originally published by BBC Books. This story would have taken place after the television episode SURVIVAL. I had decided to give the Seventh Doctor a new look inspired heavily by the way Lee Sullivan illustrated him in the BBCi webcast DEATH COMES TO TIME.

Although the stiff collar, spats and question mark on his lapel were my invention. The choice of dark reds for the Valeyard was to have him lurking in the shadows. Which he did for most of Perry and Tucker's novel. If you have not read it, I high recommend you try and find a copy!!

The print itself will measure 11x17 and will be printed on high quality glossy cardstock.

What makes both the auction and this particular print unique is once it's sold I WILL NOT BE MAKING another copy of it. There will be only one copy of this print made. Once the winning bid has been made, ONE COPY of the print will be made SIGNED PERSONALLY to the winning bidder and dated.

After that, the original digital file of the image will be deleted. Making this color print ONE OF A KIND in every way!! The winning bidder of this auction will own the only copy of this print.

Which is one of the reason why I haven't posted a copy of deviantART. I don't want ANY copies of the image to exist after it's sold.

Suitable for framing and the ideal gift for any fan of Doctor Who, the Seventh Doctor and the Valeyard. Click on the link to check it out and Happy Bidding --> www.ebay.com/itm/SPECIAL-AUCTI…

I've been doing Sherlock Holmes related artwork (on and off) for the past 13 years. Now I've decided after all that time I'll release a book of all the Holmes artwork I've done, both published and unpublished, titled A STUDY IN SHERLOCK: 13 YEARS OF SHERLOCK HOLMES ARTWORK 2001-2013. The title is from the pin-up gallery I included in the first print run of ALICE FAULKNER back in 2009.

As I mentioned, the book will included both published and unpublished illustrations and comic art pages from various projects as well as the set design I did for both William Gillette's SHERLOCK HOLMES for the Kentucky Repertory Theater in October 2012 and my own production THE CROWN DIAMOND: AND EVENING WITH SHERLOCK HOLMES staged at Nick's Bar and Restaurant May 10th 2013. I've also included photographs from both performances in this book.
